Hi, this is RPGRantGamer and I ranting about Avalon Code. Avalon Code was released on the Nintendo DS by Marvelous Entertainment on March 10, 2009.
When you start the game, you get asked to play as either a boy or a girl. After that, then you experience a story with slow-appearing text appearing one word at a time. Then, you encountered a fire guardian spirit named Tempo who teaches you how to battle and play the game. Then, you fight an enemy, but as soon as you know how to play the game and battle. The enemy takes too long to get defeated as soon as you fight it and there's no HP gauge to view on your enemies. I know that your character is supposed to be at a low level. But, don't make the enemies too strong for the player to beat. That makes the battle so long and boring.
This makes me don't want to play the game anymore. You think that's horrible. Wait until I tell you about the map, the game then gives you the objective and you have to go your destination; the town. The map on the touch screen looks obvious and where you got to go and other paths to go to. But, the paths on the map you can't enter yet. You go around certain paths that the touch screen map tricks you into thinking you can go that way, but on the top screen you can't! So, basically you have to use the crappy map system to finally head to your destination and hope that you go to that path that leads you there. Next time, you create map system. Don't put in paths you can't go to or doesn't leads to nowhere. In my conclusion, Avalon Code is a good game but is too painful to play. Personal opinion, may be one of the worst RPGs I ever played.
